A chapter of incidents has meant that we finally met again on Fri 9th chez Anne’s welcoming home in Cotignac. Luckily the weather was lovely enough for some to paint outside- a boon in these covid days, unlike the previous Friday which was horrible- rainy & windy so just as well we all stayed at home.

Everyone had still attempted the poppy field all the same & some are on the gallery , along with yesterday’s autumn trees subject…

As ever I had managed to do the autumn trees in advance although I called mine autumn leaves. It was very absorbing as I changed the example online, & used a pale yellow background to achieve the luminous light instead of preserving the white with marking fluid- a more natural effect.

Two hours just vanishes & I’m busy moving along in between four in house students & two on zoom, just suggesting a trick here & there to achieve rough bark textures, & using small natural sponges for the autumn leaves effects- very absorbing, & good fun!

Two weeks before the next session & who knows what the weather will bring – a bit like life at the moment- watching this space….
