Can tell it is now entering the silly season where it is too hot to do anything really except to enjoy the brilliant blue skies, & baking hot sun, while seeking shade & cool drinks….

Nevertheless three of us gathered together in Cotignac, including one from Australia on zoom - two had dropped out at the last minute because of domestic problems, & one was up in Scotland with bad wi fi…..so a tiny group to tackle the last painting before the August break. Given that it is one of the most popular cards it was relatively easy to paint exactly as the title describes, vue des montagnes.

Blue sky, distant mountains in different shades of grey/mauve, just descending into the greenery surrounding the cornfield. A few little houses dotted around & the ubiquitous Provençal pine trees as little darker green notes. This is a chance to just sweep across the page with the only sharp lines between the sky & the mountains, all else merges together into a country landscape – nice.

So that is that for a month now, while I gather up thoughts & ideas to start afresh on Sept 4th- date to be confirmed nearer the time.

Wishing everyone a happy summer break, despite all the virus concerns everywhere- good luck & bon courage.
